Chewing, and Chewing, and Chewing
PVC, slime, branches, moss, potato, wire, pigment, fabric; live performance and sound installation
Dimension variable 2024
This piece is a live performance that combines performance art, sculpture, and sound installation. The performer’s body merges with semi-transparent fabric to form a shifting structure where the body is no longer autonomous, but becomes part of an entangled material system. Covered in a slime-like substance, the body moves through folds and openings, accompanied by digestive sounds. This state evokes a porous body that constantly exchanges matter with its surroundings. Slime functions as a non-binary material metaphor, representing both decay and vitality, and blurring the boundaries between organic and inorganic, human and non-human.
